Red’s Old 395 Grill, Carson City
If you’re in Carson City and looking for a fun place to get a good steak or some decent BBQ, then I’d recommend going to Red’s.
Red’s Old 395 Grill is a Carson City landmark. The place is popular and it’s usually busy and crowded, but with a pleasant fun vibe. It’s in the heart of the city and has great décor — so much stuff on the walls and ceilings it’s hard to take it all in.
Service was good and the food tasty when we visited. The menu is extensive and while there are lots of meat dishes, there’s also plenty of salads and vegetarian options, pizza or pasta if you’d prefer these. The place is known for its extensive selection …

Nevada’s great Breakfast Diner! Peg’s Glorified Ham n Eggs

Cruise Night, Carson City
I spotted this collection of classic cars while recently visiting the Reno area. We were driving down the main road in Carson City (S. Carson St) when we saw dozens of beautiful cars in this lot and, of course, had to turn off and see what was going on.
Turns out this was the weekly Cruise Night gathering of a local car club. I’d long known that the favorable climate of Nevada helped prevent the deterioration of cars and that certainly was on display.
There were lots of beautiful cars and many people stopped to study and enjoy them. Here’s a part of what we saw that day:
