“Pic of the Week”, July 24, 2015: Montana Sunset

Montana Sunset 1

One of the reasons I love traveling by car is because it affords me the opportunity to stop and take photos whenever the opportunity presents itself.  So it was this past week as my wife and I were driving through Montana on our way for a vacation in the Colorado Rockies, then on to Yellowstone National Park.  We had left Great Falls and were heading south and west.

There were scattered thundershowers, common on the prairies in the summer, and as the sun was setting we drove past a grouping of wind turbines.   I thought they might make an interesting point of contrast in the  beautiful “Big Sky” prairie sunset.  It was very cold as I left the comfort of the car to get these shots, the wind blowing fiercely.  But I was pleased with the results and hope you enjoy them as well.
